Frequently Asked Questions

1. How do I become a member of the Credit Union?
Becoming a member is easy. Complete a membership application and return it to the credit union with a deposit of $30.00. This amount will be used to open your share account. This deposit, less $5.00 membership fee, becomes a share which gives the member a voting right at the annual shareholders meeting, normally held in February. You must maintain this share account to be eligible for all other services, including loans.

2. If I leave my job do I have to close my account?
No. Once you become a member of the credit union, you can remain a member for life. No matter where you work or live in the future, your membership remains intact, as long as your share account maintains a $25 balance.

3. Am I allowed unlimited withdrawals from my share account?
You are allowed 6 free withdrawals every 6 months, from January through June and from July through December. For each subsequent withdrawal there is a $5 fee.

4. How often will I receive a statement for my share account?
A statement of the three previous months activity is mailed quarterly. It is important to keep us informed of your current address.

5. How do I apply for a loan?
It is a simple process. Click here to fill out and print a loan application. Return the completed application, proof of income (pay stubs, tax returns, etc) and proof of good standing on current job to the Credit Union.

6. What do I have to do to qualify for a loan?
The credit union will do an analysis that involves several factors. These include, but are not limited to: your debt to income ratio, your credit history, and your overall ability to pay. Bankruptcies, collections, past-dues, late payments and too much debt will affect your qualifications.

7. What if I want a car loan but I don't know exactly which one yet?
The best solution is to be preapproved for a vehicle loan. This serves two purposes: it establishes the amount you can qualify to borrow, and allows a fast turnaround when your vehicle has been selected. The preapproval is good for two months.

8. How long does it take to be approved?
We strive to process the loan as quickly as possible. Some may be approved on the same or next day. Delays may result due to insufficient data being supplied. The loan will be reviewed by a loan officer or the loan committee, which meets each Wednesday. Applications should be turned in by Monday to assure review by the following Wednesday.

9. How do I make my payments?
Biweekly payroll deductions are required whenever possible. Also, ACH transactions from other payroll systems or financial institutions are preferred methods of payment. In the event that you leave here, your payments may be made monthly. Also, monthly payments may be accepted for members outside our payroll system.

PassMark - FAQ

1. What is PassMark?
PassMark Security provides additional security for the online banking application. It is now a standard part of our online banking and works as part of our commitment to protect you against identity theft and fraud. PassMark prevents unauthorized access to your accounts and reinforces the fact that you are at a valid website.

2. What does PassMark consist of?
PassMark consists of the following: an image, a caption and three challenge questions. This information is known only to you and your financial institution and protects you, whether you are logging in to your accounts from your own computer, or from somewhere else.

3. How does PassMark work?
Once you enter your Login ID on your computer and click the Validate link, your image will be displayed along with the caption. This verifies that you are at your financial institution’s website and you are safe to enter your Password and access your information. If you are logging in from a different computer, the challenge questions will be asked to verify your identity. Once you provide the correct answers, your image and caption will display and you may enter your password.

4. Will I need to change my password?
No. Your Password remains the same.

5. How is PassMark more secure?

The feature confirms that you are at your financial institution website before you enter your password. Further identification is carried out either by the recognition of your computer or by the system asking you a challenge question.

6. If I lose my password, how will PassMark prevent them from accessing my account?
When an unauthorized person tries to sign in from another computer, the system will recognize that they're using a different computer, and will ask one of your challenge questions. They won't know the answer and will not be able to sign in to your account.

7. Why do I need to set up challenge questions?

Challenge questions and answers provide information known only to you and your financial institution. They help prevent unauthorized people from getting access to your account information. If someone else has access to your Login Id and Password, they will not know the answer to your challenge question and will not be able to get to your information.

8. What keeps somebody from stealing my PassMark image and caption?

This information is only displayed once you click the Validate link to sign in from a known computer. If this is not the case, the system will ask one of your challenge questions before it displays the image.

9. When I enter my Login ID, it asks me a question instead of showing my image. Why?

This is to help verify that it's really you signing in. A challenge question is asked when you're signing in from an unrecognized computer. Your correct answer confirms that it's really you.

10. How do I sign up for PassMark?

Signing up for and using PassMark is quick and easy. You simply choose an image, caption, and three challenge questions. You have two ways of signing up for PassMark at the time you enroll in Online Banking or if you are already enrolled in Online Banking the next time you sign in you will be prompted to set up your PassMark image, caption and three challenge questions.
